This year, Pumpkin Fest will return for our 8th year and take place October 6-28 on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9 pm. It takes a LOT of volunteers to set up 18 displays in the park starting Sept 23, take down the displays November 2, and to run the event each night. Our volunteers have a lot of fun seeing the kids in costume as kids and adults hunt for white squirrels along the beautiful lighted trail, dress up for a photo op, enjoy chalk drawing in front of the mansion, or take pictures with the roaming White Squirrel. We hope all 230 volunteers from last year will return, including students from Brevard and Rosman High Schools, but there is always a need for more, to make sure this event runs smoothly and everyone has the most fun possible.
We have volunteer positions for those that are hale and hearty, as well as for those with limited mobility. You can volunteer one time or multiple slots, whichever fits your schedule. Positions include helping with parking, hosting museum tours, handing out prizes at the end of the White Squirrel Scavenger Hunt or walking the trail to check on our guests and trail actors.
If you are interested in working behind the scenes in the daytime with setup, we have lots of opportunities for you to help, starting with our big move-in on September 23 through move-out November 2. Please fill out the form found at this link to let us know what you’d be willing to do:
